Chapter 23: Operations Center & Scheduled Jobs
Info: The Operation Center lists operation receipts. Scheduled Jobs run backups, transfers, and notifications through macOS launchd when the distribution permits LaunchAgents.
23.1 Operation Center
Open Tools → Operation Center to review recorded operation artifacts and filter them by kind or status. A receipt records what happened; it does not turn an unverified or failed operation into a success.
23.2 Scheduled Jobs
Scheduled Jobs supports interval, daily, weekly, monthly, and strict five-field cron schedules. A job can run a backup, transfer data between stored connections, or execute a query and notify recipients by SMTP. Jobs record success, failure, or skipped actions. The error policy can stop on the first failure or continue while recording it.
Backups use the configured database helper and the supported secure process path. Configure SMTP before using notification actions. Review the receipt and destination after every unattended run.
23.3 Distribution and Pro limits
The direct distribution can install LaunchAgents and supports SSH tunnels. The Mac App Store sandboxed distribution cannot install LaunchAgents, so Scheduled Jobs are unavailable there. The sandboxed distribution also cannot ship the GPL MySQL/MariaDB helper family for backup/restore; helper-based backup/restore is available there for PostgreSQL. HTTP tunnels, network connections, and user-selected file access remain available where the action is otherwise supported.
Scheduled Jobs, scheduled backup, and advanced import/export are Pro-gated entry points. Access follows the StoreKit entitlement and trial gate described in Chapter 12.
